On August 22nd, 2009, 92 MINIs from around western canada gathered to celebrate MINIs 50th Birthday. We had Cake, and Bulldogs, and prizes, and 92 MINIs of all types. After gathering all the MINIs together in the morning, we headed out to our final destination via a police escort. What a sight to see, a string of MINIs as far as you could see! Thanks to our friends in Blue, we all stayed together for our short drive to our party location. There we carefully staged, and joined together to form the MINI emblem. It was now time to get some photos, and the best place to do it was from several hundred feet in the air! Yes, we took some Aerial photos, and they are for sale. Why are we selling them, well, we thought it best to support our club charity, the YWCA.
The following photo is for sale, with all proceeds going to the YWCA. This 8x12 picture is only $10.
While the airplane was flying overhead, we had music, courtesy of our live band - the Gunn Blues Band. Again, thanks to all 92 MINIs and those that participated for making this a special event!
What's Next?
Stay tuned for the upcoming Stuff-A-MINI campaign which will be kicked-off at the November Gathering at MINI Crowfoot. The YWCA is also looking for support of the "Walk a Mile" on September 21, at Olympic Plaza. We are putting together a team to participate. If you would like to join the team, let us know! |

Banff MINIRUN 2009
The Banff 2009 MINIRUN has come and gone, and it was (in our opinion anyway), a great success. Officially we had 21 cars join us for a spectacular drive through the mountains to Banff and Lake Louise. For some pictures, check out our gallery: Banff Gallery. 
As always we appreciate feedback on the event. Next time, we will pick a location with some better facilities, but I must say the scenery was fantastic, and so was the drive up Mt. Norquay! For interest sake, here is the route we took: Banff MINI Run Route Next EventAt the Banff Run, we took a vote, and decided to change the location of the next run to Sheep River. It will be another great run to the mountains through some nice twisty roads, ending up at Sheep River Falls and Bluerock. More details will be coming shortly. This event will be held on June 13, 2009.
